Asian collection contains manuscripts and printed items from Asia and North Africa.  Moving Image and Sound Collection includes film, video and audio on all aspects of medicine 20th century – present

The Prelinger Archives is a collection of films: ephemeral” (advertising, educational, industrial, and amateur) films. In 2002, the film collection was acquired by the Library of Congress, Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division. Prelinger Archives remains in existence within the  Internet Archive. Its goal remains to collect, preserve, and facilitate access to films of historic significance that haven’t been collected elsewhere. Included are films produced by and for many hundreds of important US corporations, nonprofit organizations, trade associations, community and interest groups, and educational institutions.

NASA selected The Internet Archive to organize a comprehensive online compilation of NASA’s vast collection of photographs, historic film and video on the NASA Images Web site under a non-exclusive Space Act agreement, signed in July 2007. … NASA Images is already making hundreds of thousands of images and thousands of hours of video and audio content available to the public. ….All photographs on the NASAcommons Flickr account originate from the compilation of archives at NASA Images. NASA on The Commons will allow the media on NASA Images to reach an even wider audience and invite that audience to help tell the story of these photos by adding tags, or keywords, to the images to identify objects and people. In addition the community can engage in conversation by sharing comments to add information, stories, and thoughts.

The J Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Villa in Malibu is dedicated to the study of the arts and cultures of ancient Greece, Rome and Eturia.

I would define “Digital Humanities as a unique field of study characterized by…

          Interdisciplinary collaboration to digitize and use computational methods and tools (These include text analysis, data mining, databases, metadata, geospatial encoding, virtual world building, network analysis, information visualization, interface design – Drucker) to create research, products, exhibits and resources.

Practitioners in the field are concerned with the development of data, digital scholarship, resources and tools.  Additionally the  management, evaluation, preservation, and interpretation of this form of data, and the impact of technology in shaping it. (GM & Terras)

Digital Humanities is committed to engaging the public in the stories, documents, artifacts and lessons of human endeavor.  This field is not limited to collection, exhibition and education, but to expanding access to this information, creating new ways of creating, organizing and interpreting the corpus of human knowledge, and sharing both the scholarship and processes to enhance human awareness and experience.
